Canadian Active Living Environments (Can-ALE) Dataset Now Available for Download

The GeoSDH Research Group is happy to share the Canadian Active Living Environments (Can-ALE) dataset with members of the Canadian research and policy community. The dataset is the first national-level set of measures characterizing the active living environments (or ‘walkability’) of Canadian communities derived entirely from free and open sources. The data is provided at the dissemination area level for two years: 2006 and 2016. An English and French-language user guide is also provided.

You may download the dataset by clicking here. A version of Can-ALE prelinked to postal codes is available from CANUE.

Any questions or comments regarding the dataset are welcome, and may be directed to Thomas Herrmann or William Gleckner.
